Want to feel like you are fine dining in Spain? Well, Tia Pol is a prime spot to satiate your Spanish tapas cravings. We dined here on Friday, December 11 around 7 pm.

Dishes.

garbanzos fritos fried chickpeas. We wished this bowl of flavorful chickpeas was bottomless. Ny street carts should start selling this!

brandada salt cod and potato puree.

pinchos morunos.
lamb skewers were so tender. hmm, delicious! We wanted to take small bites to savor it throughout the night, but whatever it had to be devoured.

gambas a la plancha. the small dish provided 2 of head on shrimp

pan con tomate: it had a trio of spreads provided with about 10 infant sized toasted baguettes. Uh, not proportionally enough baguettes to go with the spreads. We were about to ask for more, but then the waiter kindly asked us if we would like more baguettes. Saved!

For dessert, we had poached fig with vanilla ice cream. It's certainly not a typical dessert that you would find us eating (like cupcakes) but it was a healthy and tasteful choice.
Drinks. Sangria was average tasting.
Ambiance. It's definitely a place you would take someone you care about there. There is background music of some sort.
Service. As mentioned above, our waiter was kind to offer us an extra plate of baguette.
Seating. Once you walk in, there is a bar on your left and two person seating in the first room. Mini-steps lead you to the second room with three large tables seating about 8 people for each table.
Pricing. $$ and they accept credit cards.
Location. 10th Avenue b/w 22nd and 23rd Sts. NW corner. It's a bit tricky to find the place. There is no Tia Pol signage on the building but there is a wooden sign by the door. Tia Pol is to the left of an Asian restaurant.
